Novation 101: What They Make, and Why We Carry Them

Here's Everything You Need to Know

If you've been eyeing a Launchpad, a Launchkey, or one of Novation's analog-flavored synths, here's your reminder: Musical Buddies is an authorized Novation dealer, serving customers across Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan with genuine gear and official warranty coverage. No grey-market guessing games — just the real thing, backed by local support.

Here's a quick refresher on who Novation is, what they make, and where to find their gear on our shelves.

Who Is Novation?

Novation has been building tools for electronic musicians since 1992, right out of the UK. The brand got its start with the MM10 MIDI controller before quickly following up with the Bass Station under the guidance of synth designer Chris Huggett — a synth built to deliver the essential sounds of the era at a price ordinary musicians could actually afford. That same philosophy — powerful, accessible gear for people who just want to make music — has defined the brand ever since.

Over three decades, Novation's gear has found its way into the hands of everyone from bedroom producers to touring acts. Their instruments have been used in the studio and on stage by artists across the electronic, hip-hop, and rock worlds, and the brand has built custom hardware for some of the most experimental names in music.

Today, Novation is part of the Focusrite family of audio brands, and its product lineup spans MIDI keyboard controllers, grid controllers, control surfaces, grooveboxes, and synthesizers — all still built around the same idea: give musicians deep, hands-on control without getting in the way of the creative process.

What Novation Gear Can You Find at Musical Buddies?

We stock a wide range of Novation's most popular lines, including:

• Launchkey series — Novation's flagship MIDI keyboards, built for tight, seamless integration with Ableton Live and other major DAWs. Available in sizes from Mini all the way up to 61 keys.
• FLkey series — purpose-built for FL Studio producers who want their keyboard's pads, knobs, and transport controls mapped straight into the software with zero setup.
• Launchpad series — Novation's iconic grid controllers, from the compact and affordable Launchpad Mini MK3 to the standalone Launchpad Pro MK3, all designed for hands-on clip launching and beat-making.
• Circuit Rhythm & Circuit Tracks — standalone groove boxes for sampling, sequencing, and synthesis, no computer required.
• Bass Station II — a classic analog-modeled monosynth that's become an icon in its own right.
• Summit — Novation's flagship 16-voice bi-timbral synthesizer, for producers who want serious sound design power in one keyboard.
• SL MkIII series — deeply customizable MIDI keyboards for producers who want a controller that becomes the center of their whole setup.

Why Buy Novation Through an Authorized Source?

Buying through Musical Buddies means you're getting a genuine product with real manufacturer backing, not an import of unclear origin. That matters most when something goes wrong — with an authorized purchase, you have a clear path to warranty support instead of being stuck on your own.

It also means our team can actually help you pick the right piece of gear. Whether you're comparing the Launchkey and FLkey lines because you're not sure which DAW fits your workflow, or you're trying to decide between a Launchpad Mini and a Launchpad Pro, we're set up to guide that decision — not just ring up a sale
