The Arturia MicroBrute Analog Synthesizer is a compact yet powerful monophonic analog synth designed to deliver rich, authentic tones with hands-on control and modern versatility. Combining an all-analog signal path with a user-friendly interface, it offers musicians of all levels the tools to create bold, expressive sounds in both studio and live environments.
At the heart of the MicroBrute lies a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) offering Sawtooth, Pulse, and Triangle waveforms. Its signature sound modifiers—Ultrasaw, Metalizer, and Overtone—provide a wide range of tonal textures, from smooth and warm to edgy and aggressive. The classic Steiner-Parker multimode filter adds Low Pass, High Pass, and Band Pass options, with the ability to self-oscillate for even more sonic flexibility.
The MicroBrute’s modulation matrix allows for creative routing between modulation sources, including an LFO and ADSR envelope generator, enabling complex, evolving sounds. Its built-in step sequencer stores up to 8 sequences of 64 steps each, all retained in memory even after power-off, making it perfect for live performance and on-the-fly inspiration.
Arturia’s distinctive Brute Factor™ enhances the synth’s output with saturation and harmonic richness, producing a signature gritty edge that can range from subtle warmth to full-blown distortion. With no menus or presets, the MicroBrute emphasizes pure, hands-on sound design, encouraging intuitive exploration and real-time creativity.
Connectivity options include MIDI, USB, CV/GATE, and audio input/output, ensuring seamless integration with digital workstations, modular gear, or other analog equipment. The audio input also allows external sounds to be processed through the MicroBrute’s filter, expanding its role as both a synthesizer and a sound processor.
Compact, portable, and sonically powerful, the Arturia MicroBrute is ideal for beginners exploring analog synthesis as well as professionals seeking a distinctive, travel-friendly synth. Its combination of classic analog character, modern control, and robust connectivity makes it an essential tool for crafting everything from deep basslines and sharp leads to experimental textures.
