A 14" x 6.5" snare drum delivers a deep, powerful, and full-bodied sound with enhanced low-end presence and longer sustain compared to shallower snares. The 14" diameter provides a broad playing surface and strong projection, while the 6.5" depth adds more resonance, and a slightly lower pitch. This results in a fat, punchy tone with a solid crack and plenty of character. It still retains good articulation but leans more toward an aggressive sound, especially when tuned lower. Its rich tone and strong projection make it ideal for live performance, while the added depth offers a lot of dynamic range in studio recordings. 

Birch shells, known for their bright, punchy tone and quick attack, offer excellent projection and a naturally EQ’d sound with reduced overtones, making them ideal for clarity and control in both live and recording settings. A 7.5mm, 6-ply birch shell enhances these characteristics by delivering a balanced and focused sound, combining richness, fullness, and durability. The shell’s thickness boosts projection and attack, producing a sharp, defined crack with good sustain, while the 6-ply construction adds strength and stability under heavy playing. This combination results in a versatile, powerful drum that stands out in the mix and suits a wide range of musical styles.

Hand-selected snare wires

This snare drum features a 24-strand snare wire that provides a good balance between snare response and shell tone, offering a crisp, snappy attack with an enhanced buzz character. The increased number of strands results in more contact with the bottom head, producing a brighter, more pronounced snare sound. This added contact also contributes to a fuller, more resonant tone that enriches the drum's overall sound. While they emphasise the snare response, 24-strand wires still allow the natural tone of the shell to come through.

Hardware built for durability and sound

1.5mm triple-flange drum hoops offer a slightly less focused, more open, and resonant sound compared to thicker hoops. Their thinner construction provides greater flexibility, allowing the drumhead to vibrate more freely, which enhances shell resonance and contributes to a fuller tone with a slightly brighter character. This gives the drum a more natural, expressive sound, making thinner hoops ideal for drummers seeking increased resonance and tonal complexity.
