Featuring specially engineered effects, a built-in looper, and an integrated drum machine, the ZOOM A1 FOUR and A1X FOUR are the first multi-effects processors specifically designed for acoustic string and wind instruments. They are crafted to enhance the natural character of your instrument while offering flexibility for practice, performance, and recording.

The A1/A1X FOUR allows the use of up to five effects simultaneously and provides 50 user memory locations for storing custom patches. Sound quality is ensured through a 44.1 kHz sampling frequency, 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion with 128× oversampling, and 32-bit signal processing, delivering clear, detailed audio with minimal noise. A 128 × 32 dot-matrix LCD display offers intuitive navigation and real-time visual feedback.

The unit includes a standard mono input with a rated input level of –20 dBu and high-impedance line input, an auxiliary stereo mini jack for external audio sources, and a stereo output jack that supports both amplifier and headphone use. With an input signal-to-noise ratio of 120 dB and a residual noise floor of –97 dBu, the A1/A1X FOUR performs reliably in both studio and live environments.

Power options include a 9V DC AC adapter or four AA batteries, providing up to 18 hours of continuous operation under typical conditions. A USB Micro-B port supports USB MIDI, firmware updates, and power supply via USB. When using a power-only USB cable, data functions are unavailable.

In terms of size and design, the A1 FOUR features a compact body measuring 156 × 130 × 42 mm and weighs 340 g, while the A1X FOUR, equipped with an expression pedal, measures 156 × 216 × 52 mm and weighs 610 g (both excluding batteries). Compact, versatile, and purpose-built, the A1/A1X FOUR offers professional-grade processing tailored for acoustic and wind musicians.
